I encourage potential graduate students and post-doctoral scientists who are interested in joining the Trouet lab to send me (trouet@arizona.edu) an email explaining your research interests and your motivation to work in our lab and to attach a recent CV.  Research topics that our lab studies include dendrochronology, high-resolution paleoclimatology, paleofire, atmospheric circulation patterns, and dry tropical forest ecology.
The Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research does not have its own graduate program, but I advise graduate students in the UA School of Natural Resources and the Environment, the Geosciences department, and the Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences department.  Applications for fall admissions are due in early January, please get in touch with me in due time.  I am happy to exchange ideas and discuss options with current graduate students and post-docs who are interested in preparing post-doctoral fellowship applications (e.g. NOAA, NSF, Marie Curie) to be hosted at UA.
The Trouet Lab is located in the great city of Tucson, which has an outstanding quality of life, low cost of living, and a great climate for much of the year. Tucson is surrounded by the Sonoran Desert and by the Catalina, Rincon, and Tucson mountains, which are great for all kinds of outdoors activities and to let off steam after a day of sciencing.
